idiots and freedom of speech

I was reading about a Swedish cartoonist that was attacked as he lectured about freedom of speech. The reason for the attack? In 1997 the fucking idiot-I mean cartoonist- portrayed the Prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog. This shows the same unintelligent thinking as the South Park guys. In the argument for free speech I've nothing against free speech. This is not free speech. This is an unnecessary attack on a religious icon to close to a billion people. The right to do something doesn't make it always advisable to do.This makes as much sense as showing up at a Lil Wayne concert in a sheet calling people niggers. People that do not understand the word consequence should not have the right to free speech.Let's face it: the rest of the world doesn't all share the anti-religion cliche currently en vogue in America. With so many anti-religious people in our society and a popular media that embraces people like Bill Maher and his redundant trashing of religion (except Judaism of course) no wonder religious people such as Moslems call us infidels.Also, why do we swear an oath to anything in America?
